Paris, France: Hotel De Crillon

I absolutely adore the Hotel de Crillon. I have so many fond memories traveling to Paris — for the Chanel show, for fashion weeks, trips with my friends, and now back with Ian and the girls. There truly is no city in the world like Paris. The architecture, the culture, the little cafes, the restaurants, the fashion… Anytime anyone asks where I recommend staying in Paris, The Hotel de Crillon is always on my list. It’s just steps from Place de la Concorde, super central, and after it’s recent refurbishment, everything you’d except and want from a five star Parisian Hotel.

TRAVEL | Getting here from London is actually super easy. We always take an early train on the Eurostar ( *If you can i recommend booking Standard Premier – I think business class is a bit of a waste and in standard premier you get a bit more room!). You only have to arrive at St. Pancras about an hour before your train departure time, and in all of my travels it’s been fairly painless. The train journey in itself is about 2 hours. There is wifi on board but prepare for it to be a bit spotty. 10 minutes out from arrival I usually book an Uber for Gare Du Nord. From the station, the Crillon is about a 30 minute drive.

PROPERTY | I can’t say enough positive things about the Crillon. It’s truly iconic. The architecture, the interiors, even the signature fragrance that you’ll note the second you arrive through the grand entry doors. It’s beyond. We stayed in one of the most gorgeous suites that opened to the hotel’s picturesque courtyard. While working with the property I had the opportunity to visit several of the other suites and the ballrooms and you can still feel nods of Paris in its prime. My favorite was the suite that was transformed from the hotel’s original chapel room. Every detail is so well thought out, you truly can’t go wrong when booking any room.

FOOD | We enjoyed breakfast on the terrace most mornings of our stay with a gorgeous afternoon lunch in the inside Jardin D’ Hiver. I have so many classic favorites I’d also recommend outside the hotel — Lou Lou in the spring summer month’s for al fresco dining with views of the Louvre. L’ Avenue for lunch. And most recently discovered Matsuhisa Paris for the most delicious sushi.

RECOMMEND | Besides the Crillon speaking for itself, I was so blown away by the kind personal hospitality. Our personal butler took the time to customize the frames with photos in our rooms with photos of the girls and I. Welcomes us with a stunning handmade chocolate display and balloons and really made sure every detail was above and beyond.
