Spring and Summer picks with Selfridges

Hi lovelies, I hope you are all doing ok and not going crazy in lockdown mode. We are good and remaining as upbeat as we can, lord knows this glorious weather helps! We are still trying to think of this as a special time that we get to spend time with each other and to appreciate the little things, but like everyone I have had my off days!! I am loving cooking so much again, and Selfridges has been my go to for new knives, colanders and bowls!

Selfridges is always my go to department store as they have everything under one roof, or everything on one site! and the good news is that the whole website is available to order from with no restrictions so you can stock up on beauty favourites, summer dressing and home comforts and it arrives super quickly, I have been able to select next day for all my household deliveries, I was super impressed.

I have had so many questions about spring / summer dressing on lockdown asking what I recommend and advise to to purchase as who know when things will return to normal. In these times of uncertainly it is hard to know what to do, but what I do know is I AM NOT going to buy 8 pairs of sweatpants…1 or 2 maybe! But as always my ethos remains unchanged, for me it is important that my clothes stand the test of time so I am not going to but a ton of stuff that I can wear in the house only…its time to invest wisely and purchase things you can wear now AND when we come out of lockdown.

BASICS

Basics always work, who doesn’t love a great fitting bodysuit, tee and pair of jeans. if I am wearing jeans all day though in the house I am going to wear the looser styes such as my favourite Agolde 90s jeans. I have been wearing this model of jeans now for 2 year on repeat,  but you need to size down at least 1 size possibly 2, I wear a 24 and I am normally a 26 in jeans. I am also loving the muscle tee shape this season such as this one. I normally wear my Wolford bodysuits only, but I am also loving these All Saints ones which are super soft and 1/4 of the price. A new item I consider a basic is a jumpsuit, especially a neutral one such as the Maje one below, such am easy look to throw on and the oversized stye makes it super comfortable to sit around in.

BOTTEGA BOTTEGA BOTTEGA

Its no secret that I am a huge lover of Bottega Veneta – and any piece you buy is always a great investment as th styles are so timeless and the quality is just incredible. Selfridges have a great selection of bags in stock that are sold out elsewhere, I love the plaster (white one) in the pouch and the envelope clutch too in and I am OBSESSED with these light blue padded heels.

SUMMER DRESSES

I always like a dress in summer, they are the easiest thing to throw on, and also super easy to layer them with a cardigan on chilly evenings plus you can dress them up with heels in the evening or flat sandals in the day. I do love a floral print and love this Never Fully Dressed rainbow print one with long sleeves which is under £100.  If you have the budget I love this reformation dress, I love the sleeves and it reminds me a little of Brock collection. I also LOVE this Maje broiderie white dress, I am always a big fan of broiderie-anglaise and I think this is so so pretty and would be perfect all summer long.

KNITWEAR

A knit is so versatile, perfect for teaming with jeans, or over a dress, wearing on a chilly evening and is the perfect item to transition pieces from spring to summer. I am loving this Maje cardigan which remind me of Chanel as do a few of the ones below which I also think are all very timeless. I have included a few other cashmere cardigans which are the ultimate in cosy chic.

LOUNGEWEAR

For me loungewear has always been about comfort, its about the right fabric, natural where possible and I also love pieces that can be a bot of both and you can wear outside and dress up. These Asceno silk pjs (pic at the end of post) are just that, I wear the shirt with black trousers and heels in the evening and the set can be dressed up on is own. I have a small obsession with cashmere socks, except I dont take them off and wear them out on our wooden floor! Silk slip dresses are also the best loungewear, so cosy to sit around in with a lovely cashmere cardigan and of course you can wear them out. If you are looking fora stylish sweatshirt then the Loewe ones are amazing, I have a light blue one, the ones I have linked are technically “mens” but so is mine and I just got it in a size xs or s. I have also spent a lot of time in my pink chemisedefinitely not one you will be wearing out the house, but so nice to sit around in the evening with this and my cashmere socks and a glass of wine in hand!

BEAUTY FAVORITES

I am taking this extra time to spend longer on self care and beauty routines, applying those face mask sheets and also enjoying a make up free face. This Foreo UFO is number one on my beauty wish list and I have been using these La Mer sheets weekly. I am obsessed with my new Sisley black rose eye cream wand and this French girl body oil is just divine! I have seen everyone on Instagram using this The light salon LED maskI love light therapy for the skin as I really thinks it makes a massive difference so this is also high on my list!

THE PERFECT SLEEP

A good night sleep for me is imperative for a great day, I never got to sleep without using my This Works sleep spray, and the Slip silk pillow case is the ultimate sleep luxury (I warn you they are addictive)..I also always put my hadn’t cream on before bed and never not wearing an eye mask. I LOVE this slipsilk one with the beaded eyelashes, so reminiscent of breakfast at Tiffanys. I love all these pjs
