I have to be honest, I know this isn’t the a popular admission but I am normally not the biggest fan of sequins…. I know shock horror right? I have always been more of a lace, velvet or luxe fabric type of girl…..sparkles YES, but sequins not so much. YET I have to say since I have been seeing so many sequins on the runways of late with designers like Halpern and Templerley leading the way, the trend has been growing on me, and the best thing about this trend is I REALLY REALLY don’t think you need to spend a fortune on your sequin party dress, I have tried high end and high street and I have to say if you find the “right” high street pieces, there really isn’t any difference, so it really is a great way to save your pennies, especially coming up to the Christmas season.

The dress I really fell in love with, so much so that I am wearing on on a date night tonight is this Debut by Debenhams dress. I really think this dress is totally stunning, I love the tiered shape, I just love the swish the tiers makes as you walk, it just moves so well. Black always looks very chic and timeless, plus the style is flattering for all sizes, I love that the top of my arms are covered (not a huge fan of my upper arms in recent months) and the sequin details that give the effect of polka dots effect are just perfection. I have also shot the back of this dress, because it is so so pretty showing just the right amount of skin to be flattering for all. Best of all, for me I think that not only does the dress look designer the quality is also superb…and actually best best of all is that it is currently on sale for £104 instead of £130. click here to buy

The shoes I am wearing are also from Debenhams they are the Faith Chloe shoes which are such a great classic shape, mine are the “mermaid” colour, which is a gold, pinky red depending on how the light hits them, and they would go with so much. They also come in so many other colours, I personally LOVE the black too and I think for £39 are such a good buy (see shop my favourites below)

The clutch I am using is also from Debenhmans  – it is the multicoloured ombre Petra clutch which I think is a really great buy for £35. But if you want to spend a little more, I am also obsessed with the Jenny Packham box clutch for £50, it looks so expensive and designer, and I also love the pink flower cluster clutch which has a vintage feel (see shop my favourites below)

Lastly I also had to shoot this jumpsuit as I love it so much, it is the  Red Herring jumpsuit, I absolutely LOVE and the best thing of all is that it is £39! –  I have to say I do LOVE a jumpsuit though,  I think they can look so chic and this one really is an amazing buy – it fits so well. What do I love? Well I love the belt, the shape and it has a smattering of rainbow sparkles, giving it a fabulous 70s vibe, I just think it is a really great way of being dressed up without looking like you have tried too hard. click here to buy

I have been a bit of a fan of Goop since it started exactly 10 years ago (is it only 10 years? I feel like it has been around forever) I think my obsession began with a recipe – a cooking video recipe for a Vietnamese salad that I made and the salad and dressing was to die for. After that every week I couldn’t wait for the email newsletter with the next issue, full of fabulous cooking, gift or home ideas. There is no doubt about it Gwyneth has good taste – she would come up with fabulous personalised ideas for Christmas gifts (I bought a hand engraved wooden chopping board), ideas for beautiful table settings and did I mention the recipes?! (sidenote – if you haven’t already you have to make the eggplant parmigiana that Giancarlo Giametti shared with GP – its AMAZING!)

Goop’s success meant it expanded pretty quickly and after Gwyneth Paltrow moved back to the States it was difficult to buy all the amazing edits and exclusive collaborations as you had to buy direct from Goop website in the US – and it didn’t ship to the UK – ARGGGHHHHH…so when I was told that Goop have launched an EU/UK Website and they have a London pop up store in Westbourne Grove I CANNOT TELL YOU HOW EXCITED I WAS!

I was invited to pop down to the store to take a look, its been designed by Fran Hickman (a favourite of mine), so no surprise I love the interior, its pretty gorgeous and spread over 4 floors. There is a fashion floor which stocks Goop’s own line G.Label among others, a floor for clean beauty, then a homeware and gym and sportswear floor.

If I had to pick, the homewares floor would be my favourite, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE cooking, and Gwyneth’s first cookbook My Fathers Daughter is genuinely one of my favourite ever cookbooks, it was her first cookbook full of hearty meals that she cooks for her family and cooked with her Father (this a real home comfort cookbook which includes gluten and dairy etc) and her fathers pancake recipe is AMAZING! Anyway this floor is packed full to the brim of gorgeous kitchenware, tableware and barware – in gorgeous colours including some pink glass bowls and pink apron that is SO GORGEOUS and a set of non toxic saucepans that are going straight on my Christmas list.

I LOVE looking at beauty products, so headed up to the clean beauty floor which is filled with brands I love, including Tata Harper, The Organic Pharmacy and Goops own line and I got to speak to Erin Cotter the VP of Beauty who’s skin literally GLOWS – (always a good sign)…  So I have always tried to be an advocate of using “clean” products trying to use them where I can, avoiding parabens etc, but do use a few hardcore products on my face where I need the help, so it was interesting to learn about some products that I hadn’t heard about that are a mixture of both.

So what are Gwyneth’s favourite products? Well apparently the Goop Exfoliating Instant Facial and the Vintners Oil are her ultimate go to…I am totally sold on the exfoliator and will be purchasing this ASAPS (you put it on for 3 minutes and then it stings)  then wash it off for glowing skin, Erin says you can use it once a week or every few days and tells me GP loves it so much she uses it every day.

The lower ground floor is filled to the brim of the most stylish workout gear ever! (no suprise there – I mean GPs workouts and body are seriously renowned!) So it really is no suprise that the G.Sport range not only stylish but extremely functional, my favourites are the Desert Rose seemed leggings, not only are they an amazing colour, but more importantly they are super comfortable due to their four way stretch and flat lock seams plus they are super body contouring and quick drying for sweat purposes, basically when you wear them you feel like you don’t have them on, pretty perfect when you are working out. There are so many matching items in the range, I LOVE the matching crop top and would personally layer it with the racer tank. The whole range is divine though, and I LOVE the lightweight glass water bottle, I actually bought one to carry around with me under the pushchair, it has a bamboo lid and is obviously BPA free, and again it really is achingly stylish.

Lastly I want to talk about G.Label, which is Goop’s own brand, each piece is very much a capsule piece, there is a lot of navy, grey and neutrals in beautiful fabrics like cashmere and silk. I absolutely LOVED a knit dress with gold buttons (see below) and the Boyfriend Tee which is the softest blend of cotton and cashmere and I also love the collaborations that they do with brands such as Lingua Franca x goop and Louboutin.

So whats my favourite item in store?….well my love of DeGourney and Chinoiserie started from an article on Goop right back when it started, so its no wonder – I have fallen IN LOVE with the GoopxCB2 chinoiserie dinner service and tableware (seebelow), I love China and tableware and this is just super beautiful and the quality is divine, best of all the most expensive plate is £20.

Hope you enjoyed my lowdown on the new Goop London pop up – you should definitely go visit if you are in London, I will be going back for sure.

You probably all know I am a lover of the summer, but there is no denying that there is something super exciting when the weather changes and you can pull out all your knits and coats and start layering.

As you all know Net-a-porter is normally my go to site for investment pieces so I have put together so a few of my favourite pieces for AW and styled them different ways.

I decided  for this post to focus on knits, there is nothing more Autumny that a chunky sweater, to be honest for years I never really invested much in knits, I was always been a Marks and Spencer cashmere kind of girl worrying that if I bought super expensive knits they would get eaten by moths, but a few years ago I bought a statement sleeve Co jumper from net-a-porter – and it was a game changer, I loved it so much that ever since (along with my M&S cashmere) every year since I have invested in a few great knits. As the name suggests a “statement” knit can transform any basic outfit, it can elevate simple jeans to something uber cool or I am currently loving knits with silky slip dresses or skirts, its something I started doing last year for the first time and a trend that I am still loving.

I love this A.W.A.K.E. jumper that I bought and teamed with my Balenciaga jeans – the red makes such a statement and brightens up any grey day /mood! and the sleeves are super cool as you can actually take your arm out the cuff, plus you can reverse it to a cardigan….and look at the back detailing!!! You will be seeing me in this a lot over the coming season.

This oversized navy Acne jumper I have yet to purchase but is going straight to the top of my wish list (I need to get it soon as they do sell out though – and they are very oversized so take your size or one size down) – I have the grey one from last year and I wore it so so much, its basically so warm that you can wear it instead of a coat – which I love, it also doesn’t bobble at all and is just one of those knits you will have forever and ever! I wore it here belted over a gorgeous Joseph slip dress, but its equally gorgeous with jeans and mules, like I wore the grey version on my insta last year.

To show versatility the same Joseph dress is worn here with a BEAUTIFUL Mes demoiselles cardigan, this cardigan is one of my favourite purchases for AW, I absolutely LOVE it I adore the pretty colours through it and love the hand knitted vintage feel, totally sublime.

Another favourite is this Acne jumperalso so lovely – a great basic and again they just last forever as they don’t seem to bobble, they are very thick and warm and the quality is superb. I am loving mixing knits with silk and slip dresses but I also love other contrasting fabric combinations and I always love a bit of leather in the winter so I teamed it with this Petar Petrov leather skirt that I bought and am obsessed with – it is a big investment, but it goes with everything, knits, blouses I just think the shape and fabric are so super cool,  it is a really on trend piece that has added to my wardrobe.

Dressing it down – I teamed the same Acne jumper with the same Balenciaga jeans for more of an every day look.

I have focused on knits, but everyone know I love a dress, be it summer or AW, dresses are always the main feature of my wardrobe…I wear a total mix of styles  from midi dresses which are always chic to shorter ones which look fab with tights and boots – here I wore an Ulla Johnson dress that I love, with my Jimmy Choo shoes which I a am obsessed with right now, but I also would wear it with Gucci princetowns – these for me are a AW staple, I practically live in them and have them in various colours, although if you zr only win g to invest in 1 pair I recommend the black leather or black velvet.

Hope you have enjoyed seeing some of my favourite pieces from Net-a-Porter and are looking forward to some autumn cosyiness like me (as long as the sun come out by Easter)
